Captain's Match Report

Alert!!! Message from Paul Damper the night before Boughton stating that there are no changing facilities available so everyone advised that smart casual wear for dinner not applicable, just golf gear!!
When it originally opened in 1993 it was all about golf, these days it’s a moneymaking machine with golf an aside to the main Hotel business.
The day started with Bacon rolls and teas/coffees, followed by a discussion regarding Mags Polo Shirts which I will be following up in an e-mail.
For once the sun came out, it was so nice to be playing in shorts and polo shirts and not shivering and tucked up in “waterproofs”.
The course was in very good order and some decent scores were attained by many, just two of us looking up the rest!!
A big thankyou to my playing partners on the day, Adrian Reeman, Graham Mcausland and Alan Smithers, very enjoyable company.
Game over it was time for a thirst quenching drink followed by Sausage, Mash and Peas and a very nice summer fruits crumble.
Unfortunately at the presentation only one mug was given out, likewise with the balls. I know there are always circumstances when people can’t stay for the presentation but it would be nice to actually present the prizes on the day!
My bag was heavier going home than when I arrived and my sideboard is ordained with two extra mugs and a trophy!!
Overall Winner of the Mick Miller Trophy is Peter Steer.

I look forward to seeing you all at Sittingbourne Golf Club on June 16th 2023. Sittingbourne is another great course so make sure to bring you’re “A” game!!
