Captain's Match Report

Being chauffeur driven by brother Kevin I arrived at Poult Wood nice and early. Poult Wood is set in woodland 3 miles to the North of Tonbridge. Poult Wood dates back to the early 1970’s and originated as a council run 18 hole pay and play course with the 9 hole par 3 course added later on. The woodland is full of wild life with the Buzzards soaring high above keeping a watchful eye on proceedings. Coffee and Bacon sandwiches were the order of the day at 9.00am setting us up for the round ahead.
First tee being at 10.00am with rolling Ham, Egg and Chips after the match. My playing partners for the day were Kevin Jacobs, Kevin Gladwell and Owen Callaghan. Thank you for your company, most enjoyable. Although the course had been drying well in recent weeks it still proved to be heavy underfoot. Having said that some good scores were still achieved.
The overall winner and taking the Valentines Cup was David Smith. Congratulations to all winners.
Well done Brian Goodhew (no buggies available) for making it all the way round although I know you were aching a lot. Pete Tweddell for soldiering on with a heavy cold and no voice ! Tim Grimes for your sterling work as always.
I look forward to seeing you all at Darenth Valley on 17th February 2023 when your captain Bob Crouch will be back in attendance to greet you.
