Captain's Match Report
Ladies & Gentlemen
My second turn as Captain has now come to an end. I've had a good year and have enjoyed myself however I have not played that much golf this year due to injury's, operations and bad weather which resulted in no buggy's being available. I would like to thank everybody who has attended the golf days and given me support, also a BIG thank you to Tim Grimes for all the organising and sorting the card's and group's on the days and Peter Tweddell for all his work on sorting the handicaps and making sure that the web is up to date and Brian Goodhew for collecting the money and paying the bill's and for putting himself out by always being there even when he's not playing. Also I would like to thank the rest of the Committee for keeping the society going. I hope that you will give the new Captain Derek Reed the same support that you gave me.
The final round of the season at Faversham turned out to be another good day weather wise and golf wise as scores confirm, so a few people had to be cut, however if buggy's had been available then there would have been a few more golfers attending. Congratulations to Simon Muir for managing to keep Peter Tweddell at bay to take the Champions League by 1 point.
Don't forget that the next Golf Day at Broom Park is our AGM so if you have any issues or questions that you want to raise please let Dave Verga know so that it can be added to the agenda. Also don't forget to renew your membership otherwise you not be able to take part in the competitions there will be forms available on the day.
