Captain's Match Report
First I would like to say a very BIG Thank You to Dave Catchpole for going out of his way to pick me up and take me home after it is very much appreciated and Dave will be sorely missed when he opens the new branch of MAGS in Australia next month.
MAGS have been waiting a long time to be able to play Hever Castle as a Summer Venue however with the rain earlier in the week it put a few people off as there might have not been any buggies however this was not the case so 26 players turned up to play, the weather was a little damp and a few showers dampened proceeding a couple of times which I think was reflected by the very low scores, I was lucky to have a buggy so I could whizz around to the Par 3's which I think are the most difficult we have played as most are over water so I saw a few balls being lost except for the very long 14th as nobody was close to getting on the green. I would like to say how sorry I am to Tim Grimes for having yet another Division win withdrawn this was due to incorrect points total on the card, from information received from Peter Tweddell there were a number of mistakes so can I please ask everybody to make sure that totals are double checked on the cards before handing them in.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our Guest on Friday Adrian Reeman who found us on the website and contacted Peter Tweddell and Tim Grimes and came along without knowing anybody which I think is very brave of him as he had no idea what he was letting himself in for however playing with Geoff Mills & Dave Catchpole gave him a good start and I hope he will join our happy band and hopefully bring so more friends along.
Our next venue is the Weald of Kent on 16th June, I'm not sure if I will be able to play however I hope to be there if possible.
