Captain's Match Report
Smaller numbers than usual turned up at Faversham golf club for the last game of the season. It was a little bit cold but it stayed dry. After the usual bacon roll and beverages, play started around nine. The course played well considering the time of year, though the sand on the greens made a mess of the ball but it didn't seem to effect the roll. Good scores once again came in, 35 points for Dave catchpole saw him secure 3rd, 2nd place with 38 point went to Paul Damper who has had a terrific season winning the order of merit and the players player by having four wins and two 2nds and taking 6 shots off his handicap, well done Paul well deserved. Division 2 and Overall winner on the day was David Smith with 39 scoring, 23 on the front 9, great golf Dave. A very tasty meal was had and presentations were made back at the clubhouse. As I mentioned earlier it was the last game of the season so was my last game as captain and I would like to thank the committee for all their hard work keeping this society in good health also Graham Nunn for keeping us supplied with medals and trophy engravings and to all the MAGS members for turning up month by month for some (good) golf and good company. The new season begins at Broome Park on the 15th April for the St George’s trophy. Golf will begin circa 10.30 as The A.G.M will be before play, please make the effort to attend to put your vote forward or have your say for all matters arising. It will be a full English breakfast but no main meal due to the later tee off.
