Captain's Match Report
After all the rain and high winds leading up to the day things did not look good but it turned out to be nice dry for us though a bit blustery and turning a bit cold later. Considering the weather we had had the course was in great condition from tee to green. We had a great turn out once again of 30 players. The day started with a full English and an earlier than usual first tee at 08:04. With Birchwood quite an open course once again some good scores came back to the clubhouse 4th place went to Trevor Woods with 37 points and my good self being beaten to 2nd by Dave Elsworth on count back with 38 points, Dave scored 21 on the back nine but with 40 points playing off of 16 the day belonged to this years players player and now leading the order of merit with his 3rd win of the season Paul Damper well done mate. Our next meet is for the Christmas Cup at Kings Hill which is a great course, this on the second Friday of December the 11th. I hope you can all make it and those that do please try and stay for the meal. Players that do stay please bring a wrapped present up to the value of £10.00 or more if your feeling generous!
