Captain's Match Report
After a very nice breakfast we all set off to play for the summer shield. Quite a few members were expecting the sun to be blazing on the day and broke out the shorts from the wardrobe, however the day stayed mostly cloudy but was warm enough and most importantly it stayed dry. The course was in good nick but seemed to have a lack of rakes in most of the bunkers “and believe me I should know!” This time a lot of good scores came back into the clubhouse so now the handicap secretary can do some interfering! “Be gentle peter!!” It was very tight at the top with only 1 point separating 1st to 4th but the eventual winner with 38 points beating Dave Smith on count back was Paul “Dampski!” Damper which is his second win in three outings so well done Paul. After a nice meal presentations were made, most notably the order of merit trophy to last years captain Peter Tweddell. Many thanks to Brian and Tim for all their hard work in organising our Mags days and thanks to all who turned up for the day and hope to see you all on the 17th July at Poult Wood for the Summer Bowl.
