Normally every October at Westerham brings the rain, and quite often torrential! I'm about to jinx it but it's supposed to be a clear day for us this year. Hopefully the adders won't come out to enjoy the sun though!

Well that was an unusual experience... playing Westerham and not getting rained on! We had a good turn out of 32 players with a full range of scores to match. I'll jump straight into the stats, the one that did stand out for me was the high proportion of Division One players in the top ten again. 7 out of the top 10 positions were occupied by the 'low handicappers'. We shouldn't be surprised about that though because Westerham is one of the tougher course we play. The top ten were split by 10 points with the top two (excusing guest Dean Priestman) being split by a whopping six! Therefore big congratulations are in order for the Division One and overall winner, with 41 points, Chris Lewis. The Division Two title was taken by Trevor Woods (35 points) and Division Three by Ian Rowan (32 points). An extra mention for Ian is well deserved for the 5 points he gathered on hole 9 with one of those elusive eagle 2's!
The team of the day with a combined total points of 50 was group 2 consisting of Ian Rowan, Trevor Woods, Tony Westwood (G) and Mark Parsons. This isn't too much of a shock considering the group included two of the division winners, with a 5, couple of 4's and a whole bunch of 3's on their scorecard.
