Captain's Match Report

The day started with a much appreciated full english breakfast, well done for sorting that Mr Organiser! We ended up with 19 players which is surprisingly low for the great weather we're having at the moment but I suppose many are away on holidays at present. The course played very well with not too much 'sticky' rough, probably just me, but I did find it rather sandy though. Something to do with the fact that on half of the holes I found a bunker, one of them including a bunker to bunker shot :-(
We had some good scores coming in with the top 10 separated by just six points. Division One winner gave himself a voluntary handicap reduction before the round (to keep inline with his club handicap) and still managed to walk away with 36 points, well done Chris. Us Division Three boys (and girls) need to pick our game up because Dave Catchpole is playing out of his skin at the moment, 38 points was enough to secure him the title for the third month on the trot. It's good to see a new name up on the honours board with Mick Corcoran winning both Division Two and the overall trophy with 39 points.
The 'team of the day' was a tight competition with just two points separating top to bottom. The outright winners with 51 points were Group 3, well done to Paul, Roy, Luke and Tim.
Finally I'd just like to say a big thanks to Brian for once again sorting out an excellent meal at the 'BP club' and no thanks to Roy for bringing out the burly chef for a kiss!
