Hello Golfers,
28 of your were able to attend and it was a bit of a damp start but despite a small amount of rain initially, it turned out to be very warm, and I must say the course was in very good condition and a credit to the Ground Keepers.
The Pink ball competition caused a bit of a stir with many teams wishing they had lost the ball quite early, (just like Dave V, on the 2nd Hole!), it's amazing how the colour of a ball can completely mess the game up.
There was also the putting comp, and the usual nearest the pins, and of course many thanks to Dave Swinbank who kindly volunteered to take the team photos for me, hope you liked them.
After a few pre-dinner drinks, we were joined by our ladies and guests for the evening and enjoyed what I thought was a really good meal and excellent service. Many thanks to all who attended and made my Captains day so enjoyable.
Winner of the Paul Camfield Trophy for most improved player, presented by Paul’s mum Meg, went this year to a very deserving Luke Moore who since August last year has reduced his handicap from 20.6 down to 16, very well done Luke.
Our next game in October (18th) is at Westerham, back to our usual 3rd Friday of the month.
Look forward to seeing you all.
Tim Grimes
