We haven’t played here for some years although some of you are members so you will not need to pay for the golf. This course is very tight on the fairways and most holes are tree lined so put away those wayward drivers and bring out the low irons. You will need to be straight! The course is always kept in good condition with fast greens. Mid summer should bring some sunshine? Hope to see you all there. Don’t forget those guests, large numbers attending always give us a better negotiating standpoint for future games.

Wow! What a scorcher 35 attended this very picturesque but very tight course, with narrow fairways, flanked by tall trees and tricky and well defended greens. Judging by the majority of scores which were in the mid 20's this course proved particularly awkward for the low handicappers and long hitters, and if you went in the woods it was always going to be a shot wasted to chip out. However the cold beer and excellent food at the end of it made the day very enjoyable. The added bonus to the day was that a years membership was offered to MAGS for one player which was raffled and the lucky winner was vice captain Pete Tweddell, who not only won the prize but won his division and overall winner of the day with a very impressive 37 points. (Hope you went home and did the lottery that night Pete?).
There were 4 guests in total, amongst them, our old friend Tim Lee who won Best Guest with 30 points and I am pleased to say has re-joined as a full time member, welcome back Tim.
Nearest the pin in 3 on the 12th par 5 was Roy Goodhew after Stewart Ryan sportingly did not claim the prize owing to an error with a dotty srixon.
The next Venue is Darenth Valley, 16th Aug, I look forward to seeing you there.
PLEASE HELP! I need as many confirmations for the Captains day Friday 13th September as soon as possible, even an email or text is ok, just so I can organise etc. Ta.

Captain
