Captain's Match Report
Thank you for all those that attended the Weald of Kent golf club for my captains day.
While I was sitting sorting out the day with gifts etc we noticed it had started raining and it was getting harder but everyone's enthusiasm was "it won't last, don't worry", and yes it stopped and all was ok and we had a good weather day. I played the round with Barry England, Adrian harvanko and Nigel fenwick and I must say I really enjoyed their company.
I did have some brilliant news on the way round that I was going to be a grandad again but with a grandson which after 5 granddaughters is good news and I was grinning the rest of the day.
Hopefully you all enjoyed the round as we did. There was some bad news we lost a member of MAGS, Bill Laider and raised a glass for him in remembrance.
I tried to mix the day up a little bit with a pink ball challenge and well done those of you who returned the ball. We had a longest straightest drive on the 10th and we had a putting competition with a difference which was the person with the highest putting number would win a new putter but wouldn't know until the end of the day and it was funny as people where exited thinking of winning with the least amount of putts.
The winning team of the pink ball comp Ian Rowen, Peter Tweddell , Paul Damper and Mark Parsons.
The longest straightest drive was Paul Damper.
And the winner of the new putter for the putting comp was Steve Farley.
