Captain's Match Report

Sitting in my garden and reflecting on Fridays game at Dale Hill and with all the inclement weather around at the moment, weren’t we lucky to have such a fine day?! The Old Course was in great condition, thanks to people like Neil Durrant, whom I regaled about over our meal after the match.
Such wonderful vista’s (included free in the round of golf), makes it so worthwhile, cleaning our shoes and clubs, and getting out the new balls (which I managed to loose on the way round!).
Thirty Five eager golfers turned up and suitably energised by Egg, Bacon and Sausage rolls headed out to do battle with the course. My grateful thanks to Dave Elsworth, Brian Goodhew and Geoff Mills for your excellent company mingled with some great shots,(and some not so great from yours truly!!).
I trust everyone enjoyed their day and are eagerly looking forward to our next match at Nizels.
Congratulations go to Gilbert Louzado on another excellent round and winner of Division 3 and the Summer Bowl, likewise to Peter Browning in Division 2. Roy Goodhew, you astound me by your consistency, especially playing off the handicap you have, well played once again. Pete Tweddell, sorry your work commitments kept you from playing but I really appreciated you turning up to sort out the score cards and finer details. I’m looking forward to meeting up with you all at Nizels and wish you happy golfing.
