Captain's Match Report
It has been a few years since we last played at Broke Hill however the course did not let us down. We had a friendly welcome from the staff and coffee and bacon muffins were enjoyed by all. With only 25 players due to a lot of people having booked holiday we tee'd off, the weather was ideal and the course was in very good condition and the greens were a bit fast. However this did not seem to reflect in the scores with the top 10 players all getting cut and the bottom 9 getting shots back including myself. The nearest the pin in 3 was a bit of a tricky one with a blind tee shot and a dog leg left with an uphill shot to the green however this did not seem to deter Roy Goodhew. I would like to thank all the ladies that supported me in the evening and those that stayed behind as we all enjoyed a nice 3 course meal with plenty of wine and prize giving. A very BIG thank you to Brain Goodhew for coming along in the morning to collect the money even though his wife was not well also A BIG thank you to Peter Tweddell and Paul Damper for doing the cards while the rest of us went home to collect our partners.
Our next venue is at Birchwood Golf Course at Swanley which always produces high scores and a course that we have not played for a while so please let Tim Grimes know ASAP.
