Captain's Match Report

Thanks to everybody who attended the Christmas round and those who also stayed for dinner and presents. We just about got away with the weather. The torrential rain stopped in time for us to grace the first tee. The course though muddy in places, I thought held up quite well considering the amount of rain we've had recently.
Now to the scores... Best guest was 'won' by Martin Verga with 39 points, however Martin magnanimously said that Roy Gale playing off 8 scoring 35 points was more deserving of the honour. So well done to both Martin and Roy for carding impressive scores.
The top ten was rounded off by a score of 28 points of which three people carded, however it was Graham Nunn who pipped it on countback. In fifth position on countback against two others who also had 31 points, Peter Gray took the Division Two title. The Division One title was also decided on countback, Paul Damper beating Roy Goodhew, both had 32 points. With a return to form, the Division Three and overall outright winner was Dave Catchpole carding 37 points. This means, Dave is top of the Champions League tree at Christmas and is going to take some beating in the New Year at the last 3 rounds of the season. Good job Catch!
A big thank you is in order for Peter Barrett for helping out at the half way house serving alcohol and nibbles. Also big thanks to Bryan England for performing some cracking tunes at the end of the day.
I hope to see you all in January at Faversham, have a great Christmas.
Captain Pete
